With the ace 2 V models, Basler AG launches new cameras with CoaXPress 2.0 interface. As an international manufacturer of high-quality machine vision hardware and software, they offer all the components needed for a complete, cost-effective CXP vision system.
The well-known ace 2 camera series is extended with the ace 2 V models, which are single-channel CoaXPress 2.0 cameras with a compact 29 mm x 29 mm design. The cameras are equipped with seven sensors from Sony’s Pregius S series, all available in monochrome and colour. The resolution of the new models ranges from 5 MP to 24 MP. The powerful CoaXPress 2.0 interface allows for high bandwidth of 12.5 Gbps. The new cameras are part of Basler’s extensive CoaXPress 2.0 portfolio, which gives customers the option to choose from a single source of coordinated hardware and software components.
High performance
The ace 2 V cameras guarantee outstanding image quality thanks to Sony Pregius S sensors and an advanced firmware feature set. For example, images of moving objects are free from motion distortion and the sensors’ excellent light sensitivity ensures high image quality even in low light.
With the CoaXPress 2.0 interface, ace 2 V cameras are also suitable for upgrading a Camera Link system, for example. In addition, fast image data transmission over long distances is possible with a single cable. Multi-camera systems requiring precise synchronisation and real-time operation can also be easily implemented with the new models.
Easy installation and fast integration
To create a complete vision system, Basler customers can choose from a broad CoaXPress 2.0 portfolio, including CXP-12 interface cards, LED lighting, C-mount lenses and cables. Using the proven pylon software, all components can be integrated quickly and easily in a plug-and-play manner. Image processing functions can be integrated in a short time using pylon vTools.
“With the ace 2 V, our customers get a compact, high-performance camera that is the centerpiece of a complete CoaXPress 2.0 vision system. The combination of all our CXP components ensures seamless operation with reduced development time and lower system costs. Simpler integration shortens time to market,” explains Thomas Karow, Product Market Manager at Basler.
